Successful architecture puts people at the center. Users should be able to take ownership of SWAP’s designs in a self-determined way. They should feel comfortable in the buildings because they are beautiful, well-organized, and environmentally friendly.

Our Roots

The architecture firm began as a student project. Over the years, the housing exchange experiment “SWAP – I am the space” evolved into an office that combines construction in the fields of healthcare, laboratories, education, and housing with the development of digital planning tools. The original goal—expanding space and functions beyond conventional definitions—remains unchanged. With every project, SWAP seeks to break old conventions, apply the latest technologies, and use raw materials responsibly.

A Look Ahead

Climate-conscious and resource-efficient construction plays a central role in our work. Sustainable building cannot end with new construction and a positive ecological balance; it must be rethought within a circular economy.
